Examinations are an effective way to evaluate students’ knowledge and understanding. Without regular tests and exams, students often lose focus in their studies. Exams are essential in institutes and colleges to assess the true abilities, talents, and academic performance of learners. The Examination Module in FiN IMS is designed to manage complete exam records, including exam grades, exam groups, and related details.

Examination Module Workflow:
In FiN IMS, four different exam types are supported: General Purpose (Pass/Fail), Institute-Based Grading System, College-Based Grading System, and GPA Grading System.

  • General Purpose (Pass/Fail): A non-grading exam type used widely in most institutes.

  • Institute-Based Grading System: A grading exam type where two or more exams within the same session can be merged to produce a consolidated result with the final exam. (Note: Subjects must be the same across all exams for merging.)

  • College-Based Grading System: A grading exam type where exams from different sessions can be combined to prepare a consolidated result along with the final exam.

  • GPA Grading System: A credit hour and grade-point-based system used for GPA evaluation.

The workflow starts by adding Mark Grades, then creating an Exam Group, scheduling the exam, and finally generating the Examination Rank Report. Students can also access their exam schedules and results directly.
