About zoom live class

DocumentationZoom Live Classes /

The Zoom Live Class module utilizes the https://marketplace.zoom.us/ service to organize online classes for students and virtual meetings for staff. In this module, teachers or authorized users can create live classes according to the timetable, and students can join directly from their panel. Likewise, staff members can set up and join online meetings. To use this feature, the Zoom application must be installed on the device.

In FiNIMS, the Zoom Live Class module is built to create classes and meetings using the Zoom API. Once created, users can start or join these sessions. All processing and session management are handled by https://marketplace.zoom.us/. If you are using a paid Zoom plan (for example, a license with multiple hosts), then each host must have their own Zoom API credentials. These credentials should be added in FiNIMS under the “Add Credential” option in the teacher account. Since Zoom does not allow running multiple live classes simultaneously under one host—even with a paid plan—you must create multiple host accounts in Zoom to run separate live classes at the same time.

Zoom Live Class Module Workflow:

  1. Add Zoom API credentials on the settings page.

  2. Configure the Zoom API.

  3. Create a Zoom Live Class or Meeting.

  4. Start the session.

  5. Students can join the live class, and staff can join the meeting.

  6. After the session, check the join reports for attendance and participation.

Note: The Zoom Live Class is an addon module of FiNIMS Institute Management System, so it needs to be purchased separately and installed before it can be used.
