How to add pickup point?

Documentation / Transport /

In an Institute Management System, a transport pickup point means the spot where students are collected by the school’s transport facility. It is mainly used to ensure safe and smooth travel for students between home and school, especially when they live at a considerable distance.

To create a pickup point, go to Transport > Pickup Point. A list of existing pickup points will appear, and on the top-right side you will see an Add button. Click this button to open the form for adding a new pickup point. Fill in the required details such as pickup point name, latitude, and longitude. For latitude and longitude, you will find an option above latitude saying “Click here to get latitude and longitude.” By using this link, you will be redirected to Google Maps. Enter your pickup point location there, and Google Maps will display the latitude and longitude, which you can copy and use in the form. Finally, click the Save button to store the pickup point.

In the Pickup Point List, you can view all the added pickup points. The list displays columns such as pickup point name, latitude, and longitude. In the Action column, you will find options like a map icon, an edit icon, and a delete icon to manage each pickup point.

When you click the map icon, Google Maps will open showing the pickup point with its set latitude and longitude. If you need to change these details, click on the Edit button. An edit form will appear where you can update the pickup point information, and then click the Save button to apply the changes.

Once you save the changes, the updated details will be reflected in the Pickup Point List.

If you wish to remove a pickup point, click on the Delete (cross) icon in the Action column. A confirmation box will appear—simply click OK to confirm the deletion.

And your pickup point will be successfully deleted
