How to manage Backup/ Restore process?

Documentation / System Settings /

Backup and recovery refers to the process of creating and storing copies of data to safeguard an organization against potential data loss. The main goal of a backup is to ensure that a copy of important data can be restored if the primary data becomes unavailable. Data loss can occur due to hardware or software failures, data corruption, accidental deletion, or malicious events such as viruses or malware.

To create a backup in FiNIMS, navigate to System Settings > Backup/Restore and click the Create Backup button at the top of the page. Once clicked, a backup will be generated and stored, which you can view in the Backup Files section, labeled with the current date.

To download a backup, click the Download button corresponding to the date of the backup you need. To restore a backup, click the Restore button next to the desired backup, and to delete a backup, use the Delete button available in the backup history section.

To upload a backup from your local system, simply drag your backup file into the Upload From Local Directory area on the right side of the page and click the Upload button.

If you want to enable the auto backup feature and receive reminders for due fees in FiNIMS, you must configure the Cron settings on your hosting server using the cron URL:
http://yourdomain/finims/cron/autobackup/<your-cron-secret-key>.

You can generate or regenerate your cron secret key by clicking the Generate/Regenerate button under the Cron Secret Key section. To view the current cron secret key, click the Eye icon next to it.
